Overview
Brazing of a multitude of fins to a baseplate is more
costly than “swaging”, “adhesive”, or “soldering” processes
but provides a robust, high performance thermal solution
when:
- "swaging” is unable to provide the high ratios required
- "adhesive” is thermally limiting and/or mechanically unsound
- “soldering” is unreliable between aluminum components.
Swaging of aluminum to aluminum and Soldering copper to
copper provide equal thermal and mechanical performance to
Brazing under the same conditions.
Brazing of mixed metals is not possible in aluminum/copper
finned heatsink applications.
